Cameron Skinner, Founder & President

Cameron Skinner is the founder of Penhammer and an educator with more than fifteen years of experience across five continents. He specializes in SAT Reading & Writing, K–8 mathematics, and coaching students to master complex material with precision and purpose. Alongside his work with families, he has designed curricula, led professional development, and advised schools internationally, bringing both classroom expertise and strategic leadership to education. Cameron earned his BA in English from Tufts University, a TEFL certification from the University of Toronto, an International Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Sheffield, and an MA in International Education from New York University. His approach is defined by rigor, clarity, and a belief that education should impact both mind and character in deeply meaningful ways.

Samba Sowe, Academic Coach

Samba Sowe is an educator and engineer whose work bridges the sciences, mathematics, and real-world application. A graduate of Cornell University with degrees in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, he has taught and tutored students across Algebra, Geometry, Chemistry, Biology, Pre-Calculus, and SAT Math. His experience as a Teaching Assistant for Cornell’s rigorous courses, combined with more than five years in vaccine manufacturing and data analytics, allows him to connect abstract concepts to practical challenges. This combination of academic expertise and professional insight helps students strengthen their analytical skills, approach problems with confidence, and see how learning extends beyond the classroom.

Gina Anderson, Academic Coach

Gina began her education career in 2005 as a third grade teacher. She has since taught every grade from Kindergarten to 5th, as well as Middle School English and EAL. She has a BS degree from Brigham Young University in Elementary Education, an M.Ed. from the University of Utah in Educational Leadership & Policy with an emphasis in Teacher Instructional Leadership, and is certified by the state of Utah to teach up to 8th grade. While she enjoys teaching all subjects her passion in the classroom is for History and Early Literacy. Gina's Master's Degree led her to also pursue roles in instructional coaching and assessment and curriculum coordination. She currently works as a consultant for the TASIS Foundation, a network of four independent schools, overseeing the implementation of K-5 curriculum. She also acts as Academic Dean for the TASIS middle school summer program. Gina's main professional focus is providing private tutoring for children. Looking to provide even more targeted support for her clients, Gina is also pursuing training in the Wilson Reading System which is a structured literacy program based on phonological-coding research and Orton-Gillingham principles.
